In accordance with state and federal mandates, the Wanaque Borough Board of Education adopted an Affirmative Action plan for school and classroom practices and employment and contractual practices. The Board will guarantee each child and each employee in the public school district equal education and employment opportunities regardless of race, color, creed, religion, sex, ancestry, national origin, social or economic status.
To oversee the operation of this policy, the Board of Education has appointed Mrs. Zoe Luke as Affirmative Action Officer for the Wanaque Public School District. Copies of Wanaque’s Affirmative Action Policy 2260 are available on the district’s website at www.wanaqueps.org. Any complaints that the guidelines of the Affirmative Action Program are not being followed should be handled through the district’s regular grievance procedure.
